Dance Competition Photographer for Nationals Event

• Nationals Dance Competition Photographer

We are seeking experienced, high-energy photographers to join our media team for a week-long national dance competition event. This is a fast-paced live event environment capturing thousands of dancers, performances, awards, candid moments, and the overall energy of one of the largest dance events in the country.

• The ideal candidate thrives under pressure, works well within a team, understands live event coverage, and has a strong eye for storytelling, emotion, lighting, and movement.
• Event Dates
• Training / Setup: July 3rd and/or July 4th
• Event Dates: July 5th – July 9th
• Full availability during event dates is required

Responsibilities

• Photograph live dance performances across multiple stages
• Photograph awards ceremonies, special events, faculty classes, and activations
• Work closely with media team leadership and event staff
• Deliver consistent, high-quality imagery in a fast-moving environment
• Adapt quickly to changing schedules and production needs

Requirements

• Experience shooting live events, sports, dance, concerts, or performance environments
• Strong understanding of low-light photography and fast-action shooting
• Professional DSLR or mirrorless camera equipment required
• Ability to work long event days on your feet
• Strong communication skills and ability to work within a production team
• Quick turnaround editing experience is a plus
• Positive attitude and ability to stay composed in high-pressure environments

• Dance photography
• Large-scale event coverage
• Adobe Lightroom / Photoshop workflow
• Fast file delivery and culling workflow
• Experience working alongside video and production teams

Additional Information

• This is a temporary freelance / contract position
• Must be available for the full duration of the event
