- Seeking a Founding Patron for a Legacy Project of Global Scale
- I am seeking a visionary patron to help launch an extraordinary public art and education project: The Light of Hope Sculptural Garden on Alcatraz.
- This is a monumental long-term vision—one that could take ten years, employ hundreds of skilled artists, designers, engineers, and builders, and ultimately require major philanthropic support to bring to life.
The project would combine public art, extinction education, civic imagination, and global participation. It is designed to inspire visitors from around the world while drawing attention to the accelerating extinction crisis facing life on Earth. The first step is not construction. The first step is to create the professional visual and fundraising tools needed to present the vision properly:
- 3D concept renderings
- a strong presentation website
- fundraising materials
- early organizational and legal groundwork
- outreach to artists, advisors, and future supporters
A robust fundraising website alone could cost several million dollars to build if done at the level required for a worldwide campaign. The long-term funding strategy would involve selling millions of subscription tiles globally, allowing supporters to participate directly in building the monument over time.
- I am looking for a person of means who wants to leave a lifetime legacy—someone in the spirit of a great builder, civic philanthropist, or cultural patron—who might be willing to help fund the first professional phase of the project.
This would not be a small donation request. It would be the beginning of something historic.
- If you are someone—or know someone—who believes in bold ideas, legacy projects, public beauty, and the urgent need to awaken people to the extinction crisis, I would be grateful to connect.
I am an older San Francisco builder and dreamer who has carried this vision for many years. What I seek now is not charity, but a serious founding patron who can help turn a dream into a professional, presentable reality.
- If this speaks to you, please reply.
