Garden Designer / Assistant / Native Plant Wizard Wanted

Hours: ~20 hrs/week a few days a week, Mon–Fri, mostly between 10 AM and 4 PM I'm looking for a garden expert who can guide me through the steps of planting, mulching, and, most importantly, designing a backyard space that looks and feels lovely. This would be a part-time gig, likely 20ish hours per week. Depending on your skill set, there are other projects we could potentially tackle, such as resetting the posts in my backyard fence. Carpentry experience is a big plus, but not required. Other projects include drip irrigation, rain barrels, pollinator houses, that sort of thing. I've included some generated images to give an idea (kind of tacky, I know, but it helps me to visualize). I don't know enough about garden design to say what is or isn't feasible, or even exactly what I want on a technical level (hence hiring in the "creative" field rather than "labor" field). All I really know is it A) involves lots of native plants, B) has an arched arbor connecting the two halves, C) still has some grass for child's play area, and D) feels like a magical cozy animal crossing/ghibli forest. To give you an idea about who I am: I'm 39 years old, married, former carpenter turned-stay-at-home dad. I like board games, esoteric nerd stuff, backpacking, and arthouse and action films in equal measure. In short, the standard Portlander stereotype (minus the beard). You really don’t need to be any of those things, I’ve had great working relationships with people whom I’ve had nothing in common with, really the most important things I’m looking for are knowledge and ability.
