Videographer / Content Shooter

• We are a premium personal training business based in New York City producing high-performing fitness content across Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and other social platforms.

• We are looking for a videographer who understands how to shoot specifically for modern short-form fitness content.

Role Overview

You will be responsible for filming

• Exercise demonstrations
• Educational fitness reels
• YouTube content
• B-roll and supplemental footage

This role is NOT just about pointing a camera. The goal is to create footage that allows for:

• motion tracking
• graphics overlays
• muscle highlights
• form analysis
• cinematic edits
• high-retention social media content
• What We’re Looking For

1. Proper Framing (MOST IMPORTANT)

You must understand how to

• shoot wide
• leave safe zones
• avoid cutting off equipment, dumbbells, or body parts

The footage must leave room for

• captions
• graphics
• zoom edits
• overlays in post-production

Key principle

• 👉 Shoot wider than you think necessary.

2. Lighting Knowledge

You should know how to

• light the subject properly
• create separation from the background
• avoid flat, overexposed gym footage

Goal

• subject bright and sharp
• background darker and secondary
• cinematic / premium look

Preferred knowledge

• softbox lighting
• aperture control
• shallow depth of field
• low-light gym shooting

3. B-Roll & Coverage

You must understand how to capture

• extra reps
• close-up shots
• grip detail
• muscle contractions
• machine movement
• alternate angles
• We need footage that gives editors flexibility and improves viewer retention.

Responsibilities

• Film short-form fitness content
• Capture organized B-roll for every exercise
• Ensure all footage is usable for social media formatting
• Maintain high visual consistency
• Work efficiently inside an active gym environment

Preferred Skills

Experience filming fitness content

• Understanding of vertical video platforms
• Ability to shoot cinematic but clean footage
• Basic understanding of exercise execution and gym flow
• Familiarity with Sony / Canon mirrorless systems preferred
